Frigiliana
This lovingly restored family
home is arranged over three floors and is much larger than it
looks from the outside. It is hung with art and artefacts and
has many original features, like terracotta floors and exposed
beam ceilings. It was built over a century ago and completely
rebuilt in 2005 and this is reflected in the tiny village in
which it stands. The locale was known for its flour mill and its
olive oil production; the stones which were used to grind the
olives are still to be seen beside the road. In fact the place
is listed as a historic monument and its photographic qualities
are rivalled only by the stunning panoramic views along the
gorge and towards the coast.

Nerja
This self-contained low-rise
village occupies a large hillside site on the edge of Nerja. The
individuality of each villa and apartment is a special
attraction. All are whitewashed on the outside but as all are
privately owned, interior decor and equipment varies and they
come in differing shapes and sizes.

Frigiliana
The views from the villa
towards the mountains are truly stunning and possibly the best
vantage point from which to drink these in is the terrace
surrounding the swimming pool. This villa is an ideal holiday
retreat for two couples sharing, with the upstairs bedroom
having an en-suite shower, while there's a bathroom downstairs
near the other bedroom. Completing the house on the first floor
is an open plan living-dining room with well-equipped kitchen
area.

Frigiliana
This villa can lay claim to one
of the best views, with an almost 360degrees panorama over
vineyards and grey-green olive groves to the sea. To the front
of the house is a large terrace, shaded through July, August and
September, with a magnificent dining table topped with
hand-painted azulejo tiles as its centrepiece. Hidden behind the
house is a swimming pool and a further raised terrace area
Inside, the cortijo is
decorated with simple, old-fashioned furnishings; the double
beds (one iron, one mahogany) are reassuringly solid, and the
proudly displayed portraits of the King and Queen of
Spain lend a very authentic feel! Modern day conveniences
have not been forgotten however - a washing machine has been
installed in the little laundry room and the kitchen area
provides all the essentials for a relaxed self-catering holiday.
The villa is close to another and these properties are therefore
ideal for two or more families wishing to holiday together. |

Eastern Costa del Sol, although developed,
is less so than the west. The eastern area is the 54 kilometre stretch of
coast from the east of Malaga city.
In the east there are cliffs of up to 200 meters where the Sierra Almijara
meets the sea ending at Mara, on a coastal plain.
Nerja is the most important centre in
eastern Costa del Sol and has grown rapidly. Much of the eastern Costa del
Sol's accommodation for tourists is found in the Nerja area which is
surrounded by tourist pueblos.
Voted Andalucia's prettiest village by the
Spanish Tourist Board, Frigiliana is the classic 'pueblo blanco', clinging
to a sheer hillside against the backdrop of the Sierra Almijara mountains.
It is certainly no Torremolinos - simply a picturesque, peaceful haven.

golf courses although the majority of courses are based in the west. It is
a popular winter golfing destination.
In total there are around 70 golf
courses on the "Costa del Golf" which can be played all year with courses
stretching from Sotogrande in the west to the lesser known Velez Malaga in
the east. There are courses to suit all levels.
Tourist attractions on the
Costa del Sol
The Costa del Sol is a perfect base for
visiting some of Spain's most important inland tourist attractions.
Away from the coast there are numerous
excursions into the real Spain with the cities of Ronda, Seville, Cordoba,
Jerez and Granada and the fabulous Alhambra all reachable on day tours.

From Euros 350 p/w |
Quietly situated townhouse on small private
development with pool/kids pool near beach, golf,
tennis, shops, bars and restaurants. Fabulous views
of the sea.
When you think of Malaga don't think of the West -
Marbella, Torremolinos etc., Think East. Think
quiet, beautiful, unspoilt Spain. Look at Axarquia
on the internet. It is quite unique. No concrete
jungles, no british bars lining the streets, no
larger louts. If you enjoy peace and quiet and
plenty to see and do then Caleta is for you. Spain
at its best.
Caleta is small but a 20 minute walk along the
promenade will take you into the centre of Torre del
Mar. This is where the Spanish come to holiday.
The development is NOT a holiday complex. It is a
small, quiet (July and August do get busy)
residential community.
Sleeps 6:
Double Beds 1, Twin Beds 2, 1 bedroom ensuite
